The Incredible Not-so Edible Eggs

Easter will be here before we know it so I am trying to come up with some egg-xcelent and egg-xtra special things to do with my egg-xtraordinary kids. Today we made some incredible not-so edible eggs out of corn syrup and food coloring:
Here's what you need:
  • white card stock cut in the shape of an egg
  • corn syrup
  • food coloring
  • foam brushes
  • newspaper to cover the table
First, spread a thin coat of corn syrup all over the paper egg using a foam brush:

Then put about 3 drops of food coloring on the egg (can be the same color or different colors). Using the foam brush, swirl the colors around to color the egg:

Let dry for about 24 hours and tah-dah...a shiny, colorful paper egg!
